The celebration of the Easter Vigil is the beginning of the season of Easter. The Vigil is the Christian feast par excellence, the feast of new birth, new beginnings, salvation renewed, and humanity restored to the Lord. While the Vigil marks the end of the paschal fast, the end of the celebration of Holy Week, and the end of repentance and conversion for which Lent prepared the community, it is much more a beginning. It is the beginning of a new season of grace and a time of joy and thanksgiving, for Easter is not one day or one solemnity—it is a fifty day celebration, and the fifty days from Easter Sunday to Pentecost Sunday together comprise what the General Instruction terms "the great Sunday. Our season of Grace, Joy & Thanksgiving begins now!
I'd like to give you something to meditate on:
"If God is the source of all of our gifts and blessings, then it seems that Prayer is the channel from which all grace grows and is nutured."
What we can do now is make a devotion to pray harder, pray the rosary, pick up a good concencration book and start a retreat & visit the adoration chapel. Lets give the Lord thanks for the Grace he gives us daily by growing closer to him and our Blessed Mother in Prayer. Find a prayer partner or someone to start a retreat with. If you need resources please feel free to let me know. I am currently doing the 33 Day Retreat to Morning Glory. It is the preperation to the Marian Consecration. There are many out there to choose from.
We can do these things now and rest in joy, grace and thanksgivig knowing that God is the refuge of our strength, And all we have to do is call out to him in pray and our bond with him will be stregthened.
God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. - Psalm 46:1
